Slide Shows?

I've been toying around with the idea of building my site around the framework of a slideshow.
I figured this would be a slick and intuitive way to present my story.

However, upon further research it has become clear to me that the use of a slide show may complicate what should be a relatively straight forward idea. Firstly, a slide show would make sound cues harder to implemented. furthermore I intend to use hotspots on my images in order to give the audience an interactive experience whilst advancing the plot in more engaging ways. As far as I'm aware slide shows do not support this function.

What I intend to do instead is create a separate webpage for each 'panel' of the story. this will give me greater flexibility, enabling me to alter the aesthetic site on a page by page basis.

Blends Science Fiction and Film Noir conventions.

Horror

Here is an example of a horror comic:

Sound should be turned on!

Proposal

After much thought I have settled on an idea.

I propose to create a webcomic that explores the thematic and narrative conventions of various film genres. These genres include Film Noir, Westerns, Science Ficition and Horror. My comic will be a mashup of various genre in a single comic.

This webcomic will incorporate more then just static imagery. I intend to use the medium of the internet as best I can. To that end my webcomic will use animation, sound and degrees of interactivity.

Initial research has revealed numerous examples of genre working throughout webcomics, including one particualy effective horror comic. I intend to draw upon these examples in order to create something unique. the final product should, hopefully, be an interactive comic that uses animation and sound to effectivily convey themes and convention of filmic genres.
